Music Survival Camp 2014 is a two-day music industry conference in Whitehorse presented by MusicYukon with support from the Department of Economic Development. The focus of the conference is on practical music marketing skill-building for musicians. Topics addressed will include social media marketing, hacking into the back end of facebook, independent distribution, meaningful fan interaction, festival outreach, grant-writing, tour planning/promotion, EPKs, deep market research, embracing and transcending Yukon geography, media engagement, sync-and-master-licensing preparedness, and strategic pacing of your team's activities to build momentum enough to move from one success to the next without burning out in the process.

The music business is tougher than ever. Music Survival Camp will sharpen your music business skills and provide the opportunity to pick the brains of established and emerging leaders in the music industry.

The presentation formats will be mixed: some roundtable sessions in small groups, some formal presentations, and some panel discussions.

Guest speakers:

Andrew Stratis – Headless Owl Records Bob D’Eith – Adagio Music Bob Hamilton – Old Crow Recording Brian Thompson – Thorny Bleeder
Debbie Peters – Magnum Opus Management
Dennis Yu – BlitzMetrics
Jenna Roebuck – Dawson City Music Festival
Kim Beggs – kimbeggs.com Marie Leblanc Flanagan – weirdcanada.com Michelle Emslie – Yukon Arts Centre

Space is limited so no more than 100 passes will be available.

Conference passes cost $25 for MusicYukon members or $50 to non-members.
