Erica Dee Mah is a multi-instrumental musician and singer-songwriter based in Whitehorse, Yukon.This spring, she released "The Sargasso Season", an original album of songs written on the guzheng, a 23-stringed Chinese zither. Over the past decade, Erica has set out to find a new place for the guzhengin Canadian folk-roots music, writing lyrically-rich contemporary songs on the traditional instrument. Exclaim! Magazine recently named her one of the "must-hear" emerging artists in Canada, and was featured on CBC Musicalongside artists like the 2020 Polaris Music Prize finalists, Pantayo, who areincorporating Asian heritage into their music. Erica's performances are intimate, innovative, andcaptivating, sure to transport audiences to another world.
She will be performing a complete set of "The Sargasso Season" at the 'Round Back Concert serieswith her husband and cellist, Darcy McCord; and the innovative multi-instrumentalist, Jordy Walker.
