Lift your spirits by joining us for an evening of comfort and joy as Café des Voix brings us warmth with their signature/popular seasonal winter event at the Yukon Arts Centre.

In the spirit of its well-attended events over the past few Decembers, Café des Voix will present an hour-long concert featuring music that celebrates community and warms us during this coldest darkest time of the year. Co-presented by the Yukon Arts Centre and Jazz Yukon, get ready for a cozy evening of music that tells of winter holidays, Solstice and, always, love.

Our featured singers will be Coralie Langevin, Tom Lips, Sarah Hamilton, and Dale Cooper & Grant Hartwick, with MC/vocalist Elaine Schiman rounding out the evening. Annie Avery will be on piano, with Anne Turner on bass and Lonnie Powell on drums.

Café des Voix is a community-based collective of singers and players who have a passion for tunes from the jazz songbook, including the music of Broadway and the blues, with occasional forays into folk and pop, always sung with a jazz flare.

Established in late 2016, Café des Voix events have been held at numerous restaurants and bars, primarily in Whitehorse, as well as Atlin Music Festival and Frostbite. The summer of 2020 saw Café des Voix events at the Village Bakery in Haines Junction, Atlin’s Globe Theatre and as part of the Guild Hall’s ‘Round Back outdoor series.

Café des Voix is grateful for support from Jazz Yukon, PJ Productions, Yukon Women in Music, Grant Simpson and Annie Avery.
