Performance Notes
The 2018/19 Available Light Cinema series kicks off with a screening of the Indie comedy hit of the summer. Painfully realistic, tenderly acted coming-of-age dramedy starring the scene-stealing Elsie Fisher as Kayla a thirteen-year-old who endures the tidal wave of contemporary suburban adolescence as she makes her way through the last week of middle school—the end of her thus far disastrous eighth grade year—before she begins high school.
“As much as Burnham can be applauded, it’s impossible not to clap even harder for the pitch-perfect acting of newcomer Elsie Fisher, a marvel in the lead role of an apparently unremarkable 13-year-old.” - Brad Wheeler, The Globe and Mail
