"Breakfast.... Breakfast, sun, dog, trog..." 'Dogg's Hamlet, Cahoot's Macbeth' hits The Guild Hall from November 28th, 2019 to December 14th 2019. Directed by: Mary Sloan
All Wed-Sat shows are at 8:00 PM sharp Sun. Dec. 8 Matinee at 3:00 PM sharp
This clever romp is actually two short plays:
In 'Dogg’s Hamlet,' a group of private school students set up for their production of Hamlet, performed in its original language. The catch? These students speak “Dogg” – a language comprised of English words, but with different meanings. This is Stoppard at his word-playing, gleeful best.
In 'Cahoot’s Macbeth,' renegade actors stage a secret performance of Shakespeare’s Macbeth that becomes a stark and moving metaphor for resistance in a time of censorship.
'Dogg’s Hamlet, Cahoot’s Macbeth' is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc., a Concord Theatricals Company.
